Smith & Wesson continues to build its 10mm handgun line with a new M&P model announced Tuesday, complete with a factory-ported barrel and slide.

The new Performance Center M&P 10mm M2.0 comes six months after S&W debuted the standard model, which was introduced with 4-inch and 4.6-inch barreled formats. The Performance Center variant stretches things out a bit, opting for an extended 5.6-inch barrel and coupling that with optic-height tritium night sights and a tuned flat M2.0 trigger.

With its 5.6-inch barrel, the new optics-ready S&W Performance Center M&P 10mm M2.0 runs 8.6 inches in overall length, while weight is 31.4 ounces, unloaded. The long slide also allows for a longer sight radius. (Photos: S&W)

The 5.6-inch barrel and matching slide are ported from the factory to reduce recoil for faster and more accurate follow-up shots. This model features an optics-cut slide and tall white-dot sights with tritium inserts. (Photos: S&W)

"The new Performance Center 10mm was conceived with both the hunter and target shooter in mind," said John Myles, S&W's Senior Manager of New Products. "The goal was to build upon the M2.0 10mm series, with the intention of having reduced felt recoil and quicker follow-up shots."

The MSRP on the new S&W Performance Center M&P 10mm M2.0, which ships with two mags and a CORE plate system for optics, is $749.
