REVERE, Mass. – A Revere man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly pointing what appeared to be a rifle toward the street from his balcony.
According to police, 46-year-old Jamie Rodriguez had been involved in an altercation on the street before going inside his apartment at 250 Broadway and bringing his BB gun outside.
An off-duty police officer reported Rodriquez on the balcony and when police arrived they said the man was “in a firing position.”
“It’s absolutely scary, and even trained police officers couldn’t tell whether it was a real gun or not. These BB guns are getting more and more real looking,” Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo said.
Rodriquez allegedly went inside his apartment after police confronted him, but he was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
During a search of Rodriguez’s apartment police said they found several other BB weapons and two small swords.
