SLCC Offering Conceal Carry and Pistol Safety Class

South Louisiana Community College will offer a concealed carry and basic pistol safety class later this month.
The class will take place Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lafayette Campus and off-site for the live shooting portion of the class.
The Louisiana Concealed Carry and Basic Pistol Safety course consists of eight hours of training including range time.
Upon completion, applicants are qualified to apply for a Louisiana Concealed Weapons Permit. The cost includes a learner’s packet through the National Rifle Association (NRA), application for permit, Notary fee, and lunch.
Participants must be 21 years of age, must have valid driver’s license, a firearm, and 50 rounds of ammunition, must bring proper hearing and eye protection for the live shooting portion of the class which is held off-site.
A firearm and ammunition for the course can be furnished for an additional fee of $30. Cost is $185.
