The Faulkner County Quorum Court will discuss the concealed carry law, the 2015 personnel manual, a grant for a rural fire department and various appropriations during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Courtroom A of the Faulkner County Courthouse.
Justices of the Peace will vote on an ordinance that would allow residents who are licensed to carry a concealed handgun to carry concealed weapons on county property as specified in Act 1259.
“The licensee is still prohibited from carrying a weapon in a detention facility, in an office of the Sheriff’s Department, or in the courtroom of a circuit judge without that judge’s authorization,” the proposed ordinance reads.
JPs will discuss amendments to the 2015 Faulkner County Personnel Manual as well as an ordinance to pay members of the Equalization Board $1,500 for August and a per diem of $100 for each additional meeting the board deems necessary after August.
The quorum court will consider a resolution to apply for a $47,739 grant on behalf of Highway 286 Volunteer Fire Department.
It will also vote on an ordinance pertaining to 30 appropriations.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and is open to the public.
