A man’s loaded gun discharged over the weekend, sending a bullet through a wall and into an adjacent room and hitting a man in the back, Nashua police said.
Michael McNulty, 22, of Nashua, was charged with reckless conduct, a class B felony. He turned himself in to police on Monday.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the back around 10:45 p.m. Saturday at his home on East Dunstable Road in Nashua.
Police said McNulty was handling a loaded revolver near his friends when it discharged, firing a round into a wall that hit the man, who was taken by his friends to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
McNulty fled after the shooting, police said.
Police said there was no altercation that led to the shooting and the incident was not gang-related.
Police recovered the gun involved in the shooting.
McNulty was released on $5,000 cash or surety bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 30.
