A man on Interstate 985 allegedly pointed a BB gun that looked real at another driver, according to authorities.
Ivan Arturo Aguilar Yebra, 24, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for an alleged road rage incident Saturday evening.
Hall County dispatch received a call around 7 p.m. Saturday about an aggressive driver on I-985 near exit 12 in Flowery Branch. Yebra was inside the Audi passenger car reported to authorities.
“Yebra encountered Jonathan Lam who was also traveling south on 985 when Yebra began making inappropriate gestures to Lam,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes wrote in an email.
The inappropriate gestures included “flipping the driver the bird,” meaning a raised middle finger, and “mooning,” according to the sheriff’s office.
“During these events it was stated that Yebra pointed what appeared to be a handgun at Lam as they traveled down the interstate,” Bailes wrote.
Lam called 911, and deputies made a traffic stop later at Ga. 347 and McEver Road. Deputies found a BB gun that looked like a real firearm.
Yebra was booked Saturday into the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
