CZ USA is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the iconic CZ 75 with a special fancy limited edition CZ 75 B. With only 1,000 45th Anniversary CZ 75 Bs produced, these pistols will be sought by CZ fans and firearm collectors everywhere.
The 45th Anniversary CZ 75 B will feature a bright, high-polish blued finish, scrollwork on the frame and slide along the muzzle and engraved blonde wood grips to match the scrolling.
The pistols also feature engravings with matching serial numbers on the slide, frame and barrel starting with 45TH 0000 as well as “45th Anniversary, 1975-2020” on the frame above the grip on the right side and “Made in the Czech Republic” on the left side in front of the slide catch and takedown lever.
The controls have a high-gloss silvered finish and the pistol ships with 3-dot night sights. In all other ways this is a standard, classic CZ 75, with an all-steel slide and frame, straight, non-railed frame, squared beavertail grip and double-action and single-action trigger with a manual thumb safety.
Like the original CZ 75 the 45th Anniversary edition is chambered for 9mm Luger and has a standard capacity of 16+1 rounds with flush double-stack magazines. Other magazine capacities are available from 10- and 15-round mags to extended competition magazines.
The 45th Anniversary CZ 75 B has a standard, 4.6-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, measures in at just over 8 inches long, 5.4 inches tall and 1.4 inches wide at the controls. It weighs just over 35 ounces unloaded, and like other B-pattern CZ 75 pistols it incorporates a firing pin block safety as well.
CZ USA indicates that this limited run of 1,000 anniversary pistols is for home defense, and while there’s no doubting that they will perform as advertised, with a suggested retail price of $1,720 it’s safe to say most of these will be showpieces and occasional range guns.
Despite being 45 years old the CZ 75 design is still one of the more popular and more successful handgun designs around. CZ USA offers a wide range of CZ 75 pistols and variants including lightweight alloy-framed models for concealed-carry and specialized race guns for competition shooters.
When it comes to metal-framed, double-stack, hammer-fired pistols CZ is at the top of a short list of brands and the CZ 75 B remains relevant today. So when they come out with these special editions they typically sell quickly.
If you think you want one of these 45th Anniversary CZ 75 Bs you should act quickly. If you’re unsure but still want a CZ 75 there are plenty of base models to choose from at much more approachable price points.
