New Orleans police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rob a gas station on Elysian Fields Avenue last month and implied he had a gun.
Police said the store clerk pulled a gun on the suspect, and he ran without taking anything.
The attempted armed robbery occurred at a Shell gas station in the 3000 block of Elysian Fields.
The man walked into the store around 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 10 and demanded cash from the register. Police said the clerk pulled out a handgun when the suspect implied he had a gun in his waistband.
The incident was captured on the store’s surveillance system, and police released a picture of the suspect Wednesday (Sept. 2).
The man had dreadlocks and a large build. He last was seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes.
Police have asked anyone who recognizes the man to call 3rd District Detective Matthew Morrison at 504.658.6030 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.]
