Woman accused of pulling gun on student sitting in her ‘seat’
WLWT is investigating the gun scare on Northern Kentucky University’s campus and what new documents are revealing about the incident at the school’s library.
Jaylin Johnson, 23, is accused of bringing a loaded handgun to school.
Johnson is accused of pulling the gun from a backpack and waving it at another student sitting in what Johnson called her seat.
Police released the 911 call to WLWT.
Caller: “Hi I was just in the library”
Dispatcher: “Uh huh”
Caller: “I don’t know if it was just a toy gun or a fake gun but this girl told me to leave because she had a gun in her hand”
Dispatcher: “She had a gun in her hand?”
A new image of the gun that was used was also released.
According to the police citation, it is a black Cobra 380 that had a round in the chamber and a misfeed causing the slide to lock to the rear.
The citation also stated that Johnson said “she feels people are after her but she doesn’t know who they are and that she has asked the FBI to help her.”
Johnson is facing misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon, menacing and disorderly conduct.
She was in court Thursday, where a mental evaluation was requested and granted.
